The first Village Pipol Choice Awards proclaimed Sharp Philippines Corporation as 2019’s Home Appliance Brand. Such title is given to an appliance brand which continues to give the public innovative and revolutionary products. It is one of the 50 awards honored during the red carpet awarding ceremony at the Casino Filipino Manila Bay main ballroom, January 23, 2020.
“Thank you Village Pipol (magazine) for this award. Throughout these years, I believe Sharp has been a part of Filipino lives. We will continue to be with you as you also grow up as future parents.” Sharp Philippines Senior Manager for New Business Development Peter Villanueva said as he accepted the award. Sharp reigned over home appliance brand nominees in the said category which included TCL, Whirlpool, LG, Samsung and Fujidenzo. Sharp Philippines has been continuously producing quality home appliance products that made Filipino lives easier and more comfortable for almost 38 years.

The Village Pipol Choice Awards (VPCA) is the award-giving arm of Village Pipol, a 5-in-1 publication service provider under the RED Entertainment Group of Companies. The recognition aims to honor deserving showbiz personalities, online creators and brands under Travel, Lifestyle and Entertainment categories. Awardees are chosen based on Online Votes (50%), Editorial Team Deliberation (30%), and Panel of Judges (20%).

This year’s panel of judges included fashion designer and celebrity stylist Chynna Mamawal, movie director RC delos Reyes, board-certified dermatologist Dr. Homer Cudel and tech blogger (TechPinas.com) Mark Macanas. Editor-in-chief Jim Zamora and PR & Advertising Head Josh Austria selected their top picks as part of the editorial team. This year’s ceremony, which featured more than 300 nominees was presented by Casino Filipino and produced by Red Entertainment and Village Pipol Magazine.
The awards night was attended by more than 200 brand executives and online and showbiz personalities. Millennial artists Maymay Entrata, Edward Barber, Darren Espanto, Mimiyuuuh and even the famous SB19 graced the event. ABS-CBN’s Ultimate Bidaman winner Jin Macapagal and GMA Network’s IT-girl Ashley Ortega hosted the first-ever VP Choice Awards.
