Monthlong Liveblog | Birth Month Shopping Haul Boxes

We are all shoppers. Set. Schedule. Shop!

I shop more in September than in December. The first reason is, I intend to spoil myself with rewards during my birth month (I work like hell while waiting for September.) Second, I gradually start shopping for Christmas gift items earlier to avoid the Yuletide bustle from sensationalized “Christmas Sale” and “Year-End Sale”. How about you? Have you set a shopping schedule for your self?

This month-long liveblog is dedicated to document my shopping behavior throughout September. Concurrently, it aspires to review the items which you might be interested of buying as well. Johndappercloser earns when you shop such items through the links below. It is rest assured that we only feature here an item which we vouch for quality and reasonability.

First Haul: The Vax Box

Shopping Haul, September 5.

Knit Vest (Khaki, Medium) : This is the item that I am most excited to wear from the first haul. I intend to strut with this as a sole top on my anti-Covid19 vax day. (Well, let us see!). Furthermore, with its color and fit, this is a perfect layering piece both for the virtual Yuletide invitations and  year-end branch e-gatherings at work. SHOP IT HERE NOW: https://shp.ee/xnub2y7

Sweat Short (Brown) : Tentatively, this is the pair-in-mind of the vest for my vax day garb. I have been really looking for a loose white pants though for a better look. Nevertheless, this short is a sure favorite piece for home workout, lounging and athliesure-ly strolls. I also got a bloody red one. SHOP IT HERE NOW: https://shp.ee/rn5b6kp

Cylinder Bag (White) : I find the shape of this bag really unique and functional. This would be a complementary accessory for those comfortable fits you don for errands (wearing this for vax day as well). Its size looks easy to carry yet can contain your extra mask, alcohol spray, face shield, quarantine pass and your phone. An extra shirt can still hitch as well. SHOP IT HERE NOW: https://shp.ee/qbw8t5p

Silicone Mask (Transparent) : I really do not guarantee the protective function of this mask when used alone. I purchased this because I plan to wear it with a brown surgical mask as an inner mask to enhance filtration power. Aesthetically, that way it gives a look like you are only wearing one mask. Consider this a double masking style tip. Try it on! SHOP IT HERE NOW: https://shp.ee/tdjj7i7

Automatic Alcohol Dispenser (White) : Seamless hand disinfection! If you are like me who is whiny to the challenging act of spraying a sanitizer onto my palms, you will love to buy more than one of this dispenser with ultra-sensitive infrared sensor. Perhaps, one for each room in your house. Easy to refill, battery life saver, non-drip design. SHOP IT HERE NOW: https://shp.ee/fz7u287

Shopping is owning what you need. Thus, we are all shoppers. We buy things that we need from time to time. The only bad thing one gets from shopping though, is when one does it without a schedule, thus compromising the other financial needs. Do not just shop because it is a leisurely thing to do nor since the item is cheaper. You can “add to cart” all the time. But “check out” deliberately.

By scheduling, this means shopping at the set time. A time when your target budget is already available. Set. Schedule. Shop! Until the next box!

Your Wellness Routine And Your Planet

Our Earth has its own looks and health as well. Do good.

The world now more than ever, is inhabited by people who are consciously taking care of their looks and wellness. Do you belong to this health-conscious club? It is highly likely! Has it ever crossed your mind that while caring for your well-being, you can actually contribute to sustaining a more habitable Earth? Let us talk about that correlation. It is seriously simple.

YOUR WELLNESS ROUTINE AND YOUR PLANET

The packaging of the product you are using for your skincare routine or your grooming regimen stays as a pollutant for more than 450 years before it is biodegraded. Exponentially, all of your friends, old and new, real and fake, are also using health products with similar packaging materials. It does not mean though that we should stop paying attention to our health. It means that we should simply stop patronizing those health products and consider changing our preferences into brands that foster a sustainable lifestyle. This is just one of the grave situations in which Watsons’ Sustainable Choices campaign comes into play.

The trusted health product retailer, through the Sustainable Choices campaign, puts sustainability at the core of brand development and sourcing, from packaging to ingredient choices. These are aimed to help shoppers make Sustainable Choices by providing them with Earth-friendly options for their wellness needs.

YOUR NEXT WATSONS RUN

On your next wellness essential shopping at Watsons, the following four initiatives are encouraged as part of a long-term commitment to protecting the environment anchored on four pillars – Community, People, Customers and Planet. Indeed, look good, do good, feel great.

Clean Beauty

Carrying a wide range of Clean Beauty products available at affordable prices, the store’s Clean Beauty products contain better ingredients that are sourced responsibly with an eye toward sustainability.

Reuse & Refill

Watsons Philippines believes in reusing so it will make refill packs available for
purchase so they can reuse the original containers of shampoos, conditioners, lotions, and other personal care products, enabling them to create a habit that helps reduce waste going into landfills.

Better Ingredients

Palm Oil and its derivatives are used in 70% of beauty products and with its yield being far better than any other crop, there is no way to remove it from formulations. The problem with palm oil is that it is extremely harmful for the environment.

Better Packaging

Biodegrading of plastic bottles takes 450+ years, while plastic bags take grueling 20+years, adding grave impact to the environment.

Watsons Philippines promotes products packaged in recycled containers by encouraging the use of 100% sustainable paper packaging that comes from sustainably and responsibly managed forests and plantations or using bio-based or post-consumer recycled plastics. In stores, it has been encouraging shoppers to refuse single-use plastics wherever they go and instead, bring their reusable shopping bags or use eco-friendly totes.

YOUR CALL

It is indeed imperative to take care of one’s health – to look good, to feel great. But I hope, from now on, we shall stop the self-centered type of care. Our Earth has its own looks and health as well. Do good.

*Here is an easy and fun-to-do list to Do Good.

Take care of yourself. Take care of her.
