“The Philippines’ Fearless Diva”

Shortly after winning season one of GMA-7’s Pinoy Pop Superstar, Jona—who at the time was still going by her real name Jonalyn Viray—became an in-demand performer and recording artist. Jona’s first studio album On My Own turned Gold, and her self-titled second album yielded a hit single in “Help Me Get Over.” It went on to win Song of the Year at the 2014 PMPC Star Awards for Music. A year later, she made headlines when she transferred to the Kapamilya network and changed her stage name. She has released an album under ABS-CBN’s in-house record label Star Music, which was eventually certified Platinum. She has also filled concert venues here and abroad, both as a solo performer and as part of a group.

“Asia’s Nightingale”

The diva known as Asia’s Nightingale hardly needs an introduction. Lani’s career spans decades and includes an impressive stint performing in Las Vegas, where she became known as the Siren of the Strip. During her time there, Lani performed with the Society of Seven at Bally’s and the Flamingo, making her the first Asian to headline a main showroom on the Las Vegas Strip. Lani’s career in the Philippines is nothing to sneeze at either, as all of her albums have been certified Gold or Platinum.

Westlife, one of pop’s biggest ever bands. Before the split up in 2012, garnered 44 million sales and fourteen chart-topping singles. Most of the lines of these award winning songs were sang by Shane Filan. As what one of the comments on one of his latest music videos in Youtube says, “This man kept Westlife memories and music alive… just hearing his voice reminds me of Westlife days…”

The Davaoeno fans are so thrilled for Filan’s first concert in Mindanao. Two unforgettable memories to collect this September 16. First, to finally meet the man behind that familiar voice from a boyband whose songs are eternally admired. Second, is to be part again of that moment when you sing along with your friends that latest Westlife hit like you did back in highschool. This time, with Westlife’s lead singer Shane Filan, live.

Morissette: It would be special if I shared the stage with Darren in Davao

“I love Darren because he is my good friend. It would be special if I shared the stage with him.” says Morissette.

After the successful string of “Morissette Is Made” concerts in Luzon, Cebu and even Dubai, UAE, Morissette Amon is excited to whistle her vocal prowess in Davao City. The Asia’s Phoenix personally requested for Darren Espanto as her special guest.

“As always, we promise to give the best live experience we can for our audience. I am very excited to be bringing MADE in Davao, plus our collaboration with special guest Darren Espanto is definitely something to look forward to!” … “I love Darren because he is my good friend. It would be special if I shared the stage with him.” says Morissette.

The “Morissette Is Made” in Davao concert is undoubtedly a not-to-miss live performance since it features two of the most powerful voices of the Philippine’s pop music industry. This is on September 2, 8 PM at the SMX Convention Center. This is also a homecoming of sorts for the Cebuana artist because her father Mr. Amon, is originally from Davao.

What is your favorite line from your recent favorite Visayan song? Why?

“My current favorite Visayan song, which I’ve been singing in the concert, is ‘Puhon’ originally by Kurt Fick. I fell in love with it because it’s such a relatable good vibes song. The whole song is about being patient for love, and I’m always inspired singing the lines “Ang gugma nga pang- now or never will be over too fast.. Mao nang ako, I’d rather wait for kanang the kind of love that will last.” And that’s true!”

-Morissette, who will also be one of the awardees of the prestigious PeopleAsia magazine for its upcoming “Women of Style and Substance” issue.

“Morissette is the next big thing in the music industry. She is preparing for her international stardom as she collaborated with Michael Bolton and Jessie J soon,” says young concert producer Glenn Aldueza of Aldueza Entertainment Productions (AEP).

In Cebu, she mesmerized the audience with her cover of a Regine Velasquez original “Pangarap Ko Ay Ibigin Ka,” replete with a whistle. How about in Davao, in which song shall we hear the Asia’s Phoenix’ world-class whistle?

“Morissette Is Made” is produced by AEP and sponsored by SMDC and Frontrow.

Tickets are available at SM Lanang 2nd floor or SM Tickets nationwide. Ticket prices are pegged at P3,710 (VIP); P2,650 (Gold); P1,590 (Silver); and P530 (General Admission). Call 0936 300 0243 for more details.
