Kia’s Surprise : Your bolder city car for the more assertive city life – Picanto IV

Every space is with value. Every space you posses, space you’re able to lend, grants you the pride of ownership. So how would you then want to ride Kia’s all-new Picanto?

imageUrban hustle has been more challenging this recent millennium. From metropolitan traffic to workplace politics, an account person’s daily steer has to be agile with the ever accelerating gears to be successful.

Feels the need from the more demanding dealings of the city life, Kia Motors Corporation surprises the city slickers with the all-new Picanto. “The new model retains all of the outgoing model’s strengths but now offers increased performance and new technologies” says Hernando D. Ganac, Vice President for Sales and Marketing of Columbian Autocar Corporation (CAC), the exclusive Kia vehicle distributor in the Philippines.

image
Kia’s signature tiger-nose grille now extends the sides up to the headlights, more reminiscent of the sportier models like the Rio and the Forte.

The exterior now has bolder body lines with 15mm added to the wheelbase without any increase to the over all length of the vehicle.

Possesses ideal combination of directional stability and assured handling brought by improvements made in the chassis. The more balanced and responsive driving experience promotes safer commute with a more precise vehicle reaction and more felt sensation of a direct steering-wheel-to-road connection.

Cabin is entirely modernized and refined giving an added sense of quality for the occupants. Enhanced headroom, legroom and shoulder room highlights the increase in cabin space.

image
The larger interior capacity can be noticed all around the vehicle.
image
Indeed, a Grand Tourer (GT) city car for you.

How would you want to ride the all-new Picanto?

For the subcompact car class, the widened interior space is the selling edge of the all-new Picanto. From someone who spent my college days driving such type of vehicle, the more breathable spatial experience while on transit makes your every peso reasonable.

Every space is with value. Every space you posses, space you’re able to lend, grants you the pride of ownership. So how would you then want to ride the all-new Picanto?

As a hitchhiker workmate on the wider passenger’s seat?

or a rewarded driver with the updated dashboard?

Either, keep afire for career success and let the odds witness your “Power to Surprise”.

Shirt jack Barong with a tailcoat length like that of a Tuxedo. I covet wearing Barongs with the modern styles especially the shirt jack type. Had at least 3 of such style in my closet for work closing fat accounts. Though, personally ain’t too convinced yet with the twitches on the collar wings, seeing Batu’s fad twist on the rear of this piece somehow is a grabber of excitement and fascination to one of these days to close more deals donned with this.

Denims to Deals: Tricks to rock Denims at work

It is ideal to choose either the raw wash denim or the bleached denim. These washes appear plain and smart. Both finishes don’t have creases, distortions or high contrasting patterns.

Denim has that rugged appeal. An impression which the corporate dress code has stringent restrictions. A punctuation-near to a taboo clause on the human resource handbook. Undoubtedly though, Denim has this intra-occupational charm. Who would not want to mix a denim piece on their wear set for work? How to turn these denim pieces to be appropriate for corporate dealings?

TRICKS

Type of Wash

It is ideal to choose either the raw wash denim or the bleached denim. These washes appear plain and smart. Both finishes don’t have creases, distortions or high contrasting patterns. A Raw denim finish could be blue which mimics the usual navy blue slacks perfect for corporate appeal. These could also be black, brown, any darker tint depending on the dye used. Bleached denim finish on the other hand, is the lighter but still plain versions. From white to light blue, depending on how long the bleaching was done.

Tag it along with Leather

For denims to be more corporately de rigueur, leather would be an ideal accomplice. Remember to filter which piece on your outfit to be the denim. Denim shirt paired with office slacks or a work smart shirt and denim pant in tandem, just don’t over dress a denim then, tuck in. Use a belt and a leather shoes with the same color. Brown leather is perfect for denim. Not the metal studded or the buckled. Try it also with leather shoes with minimal brogue details.

The unique appeal of Stand collar shirt from SM Men store would also look nice with your denim pant. Just tuck it in.

The fortification of being a Master Closer is when you have let the prospect sign on the dotted line. Your choice of wardrobe though, affects how people perceive you as a specific kind of breed. Clothing helps a lot on positive first impressions. As to for choosing to strut a Denim, the deal is closed more of HOW you are wearing a carefully picked wash and a not “over denim-ed” look.

Breathing Fabrics: Soothing the stiff corporate clothing

Remember that prospects can only be comfortable if you, on the first place is composed and relaxed. When they are comfortable, they listen.

Within milliseconds upon prospects gaze at you, they swiftly classify either you are a “closer” or a “loser”. A matter of a letter to differentiate, let that “C” be the Clothes you’re wearing the moment you offered the first handshake. Clothes which provide comfort and enhance confidence.

TRICKS

Color and Pattern

Shades of our shirt affect significantly in our dealings. Colors are influential to a persons mood.

imageWhite conveys purity. My default hue on first client meeting. As you try to gauge your prospect’s personality on your first encounter, it is strategic to drape something pure, neutral and neat. Befriend them and pitch clean. Of course, don’t forget to ask for the sale. They may sign in now or at least lessen the number of meetings towards the final close. On days when it seems like you’re getting the hard time befriending the prospects, go back to White.

imageLight Blue denotes sincerity. The tint of choice to enhance credibility. When prospects say NO because the pitch sounds too-good-to-be-true or perhaps you have been having credibility objections for how many days, wear vibrant of blue shirt the next day!

image
Pastel radiates relaxation. Best to don on pressured days. When you’re seem going to a chasm of rejections or panting before the month closes, don’t let your prospect feel the cram. Wear pastels! Also, best during mid day humid pitches, open house events, exhibits, field activities.

Color coordination denotes being organized and composed. Any of your interlocutor surely appreciates your offer due to the pleasant reception of the colors engulfing them as you pitch. Refrain from wearing Red and busy patterns like herringbone, houndstooth and plaid or checkered.

Fabric and Fit

imageDrapes dictate disposition. When we are comfortable with what we are wearing, we just simply feel good about ourselves. This then transcends to anyone you are interacting with may it be a client, your boss or a mate. They’ll love the presence of someone with a relaxed vibe.  Fabrics that breathe with you like lightweight polyester, drape and rayon, are good source of confidence.

Well fit clothes denote that you are prepared for winning. Thus, your first effort then for success on this context is to simply get your sizes and measurements sharp.  Have these measurements saved on your mobile’s notes and be sure to update it at least every quarter. Buy pieces which aren’t too snug yet not too loose.

Making the prospect feel comfortable during the entire sales encounter should be of your utmost goal. Remember that they can only be comfortable if you on the first place, is composed and relaxed. When they are comfortable, they listen.

PICKS : UNIQLO

Upholding the Japanese values of simplicity, quality and longevity, Uniqlo currently has three shops in Mindanao for a more accessible shopping of comfortable wear pieces.

image

CHEST TO CALVES:  Oxford Slim Fit Short Sleeve Shirt, Dry-EX Ultra Stretch Ankle Length Pants
image
CHEST TO CALVES: Linen Cotton Short Sleeve Shirt, Dry-EX Ultra Stretch Ankle Length Pants

Dry-EX Ultra Stretch Ankle Length Pants : May it be on my corporate dealings or out from the sales table flees, this pant breathes with me. Light to wear. Stretches on festive strolls while creases just rightly every time I cross legs during account negotiations. A fabric innovation that’s gratefully tolerant to wide range of motions your grind calls for. A life wear!

Scoring an impressive first impression primarily lies on your externals. Drape those closing skills with clothes that exude instant and irresistible admiration exactly on the first tic the prospect saw you.

After that engaging prelude, making the prospect feel comfortable during the entire sales encounter should be of your utmost goal. Remember that they can only be comfortable if you, on the first place is composed and relaxed. When they are comfortable, they listen.

Dod’s Ihaw Ihaw: A World Street Food Master in Davao

“The “Bawug” part of the jowl where layers of gelatinous fat melt and slather into the layers of meat once grilled.”

Processed with VSCO with b1 preset
Just before strutting towards Kowloon City, YING KEE, a Michelin recognized street food for Wonton Noodles in San Po Kong, HK.

I was then ambling along the streets of Kowloon city, hunting for a famous Nasi-Satay when I prognosticated “Someday,  Filipino street food will have its own taste of fame in the global dining table. Food evangelists from other countries will also visit and search for our street food like what I am doing here in Hong Kong.”.

A year and five months from that random prophecy, a list which recognizes the world’s best street food made me one of the proudest Filipino street food disciples. Another yardstick for calibre street food apart from the Michelin Guide, the World Street Food Congress included 5 Philippine Street food stalls in their list of 50 World Street Food Masters for 2017. One of these five, is in Davao.

Igniting more flame to every tourist’s gastronomic adventure in Davao city, Dood’s  Ihaw-Ihaw (Now Dod’s), a humble carinderia/ barbeque stall near the rotunda (traffic circle) on the vertex of Roxas and Ponciano streets, fronting the City’s Postal Building, made it to the 46th spot as a World Street Food Master for their “Sinugbang Panga” (wood fire grilled Tuna Jowl).

image
Depending on the cut’s size, price ranges from 120PhP to 450PhP. May be ordered dine-in (with a 10PhP cup of rice, ice cold cola at 10PhP) or a foil-wrapped takeout. Mr and Mrs Dod’s passion for 12 years deserves the world recognition. #relationshipgoals

Like Mr and Mrs Dod’s, this couple hawker in Kowloon City’s Lan Ying has an award-winning dish, Nasi goreng – Satay meal combo at 43HKD. It is a Michelin-listed street food in Hong Kong. #Relationshipgoals

The 12-year-old tandem of the marinade sauce and the basting oil according to Mrs. Dod’s, is the secret why their grilled tuna is peerless amongst the other versions you have tried. Apart from that, the couple’s choice of serving only the “Bigeye” tuna species also gives a distinct quality to their award winning dish.

“This species is really the one that is made for grilling. Especially the “Bawug” part of the jowl where layers of gelatinous fat melt and slather into the layers of meat once grilled.” Mrs. Dod’s explained. I agree. Every spoon of freshly-cooked steamed rice deserves to be slathered with those melts from the grilled tuna.   Drizzle it with “sawsawan” (Yakitori sauce-like dip) before finally dunking it! Lami!

Hop in to any jeepney that passes by Ponciano St. and ask one of the ever helpful Davao jeepney drivers to drop you at the Davao Light Building. Right across the street, the redolence of an andante-grilled fish meat would smoothly guide your way. Be there by 9am to get the “Bawug” cut. When you want some real Davao street food dining immersion, lunch and dinner until 10PM is such a touristy jostle. Wander along Roxas Street Market, it is just a block away, after.

Honda Flagship Shop opens with Riders’ Lounge and Test Circuits

The Philippine’s largest HPI flagship shop – A hybrid of motorcycle retail concept shop with test course facility and an exclusive lounge for Riders in a 6,960 sqm expanse.

Concurrent with the launching of six new Honda Motorcycle models, the partnership of Honda Philippines Inc (HPI) and DESMARK dealership unveils the Philippine’s largest HPI flagship shop in Davao city – A hybrid of motorcycle retail concept shop with test course facility and an exclusive lounge for Riders in a 6,960 sqm expanse.

Minutes after the inauguration rites, I started roaming around the spacious display area. Not the usual bike retail shop you’ve been in. With the cozy settings of the customer’s lounge, you would thought you’re about stay in a lavish hotel.

Still looking for what would uniquely describe a Honda Flagship Shop, I met Ms Jang and started to network a bit. Apart from the showroom, spare parts and power products display area, Davao’s HPI Flagship shop features a 1,500 sqm test circuit where riders can get that feel while riding a Honda motorcycle they are involved to own. The Rider’s Hall upstairs is also phenomenal. Jang sizzled. She tried to get consent from the in-charge while I also called my fellows Mark, Joseph and Teresa.

Just two more floors up, I thought of the intricate recreation floor of the well-appointed vacation club property I am working in. Imagine a lounge, 250-seater function room, recreational facilities and my favorite, the veranda with the pseudo poolside appeal! With all these features as free, I applaud HPI and DESMARK for innovating such irresistible overture for their owners and such a wise yet thoughtful move to sustain bigger market share being the number 1 motorcycle brand in Asia.

Honda Flagship Shop was already inaugurated in Cebu last January 2017 while that in Manila would be within the 2nd quarter this year. All  Riders’ club leaders should know about this (Send this link to a rider you know).

With all these features as free, I applaud HPI and DESMARK for innovating such irresistible overture for their owners and such a wise yet thoughtful move to sustain bigger market share being the NUMBER 1 MOTORCYCLE BRAND IN ASIA!

Caliber Machinists | One Stop Motorcycle Shop

Davao’s Honda Flagship Shop has one of the largest service shops in Mindanao with resident machinist Mr Ace Acedo who represented the country in Vietnam for the Mechanics Olympics. Complete array of spare parts and accessories is of instant availability since Honda warehouse is just behind the store. Honda Philippines staff also serves at the 2nd floor for any owner’s inquiry. Indeed, a one stop shop for bike ownership, your after sales concerns and mechanic maintenance.

image
Honda Philippines Inc. President Daiki Mihara graced the inauguration (Above Left). Interior and display of the retail concept shop.

“Even with a showroom this grand, We at DESMARK will never waiver our core value which is to provide best quality Honda products at ultra affordable prices. We aim to always be the lowest priced with the best installment rates not just in Davao but in the country” Maricris Du, VP for Operations during her opening message.
