Denim has that rugged appeal. An impression which the corporate dress code has stringent restrictions. A punctuation-near to a taboo clause on the human resource handbook. Undoubtedly though, Denim has this intra-occupational charm. Who would not want to mix a denim piece on their wear set for work? How to turn these denim pieces to be appropriate for corporate dealings?


TRICKS


Type of Wash

It is ideal to choose either the raw wash denim or the bleached denim. These washes appear plain and smart. Both finishes don’t have creases, distortions or high contrasting patterns. A Raw denim finish could be blue which mimics the usual navy blue slacks perfect for corporate appeal. These could also be black, brown, any darker tint depending on the dye used. Bleached denim finish on the other hand, is the lighter but still plain versions. From white to light blue, depending on how long the bleaching was done.

 

Tag it along with Leather

For denims to be more corporately de rigueur, leather would be an ideal accomplice. Remember to filter which piece on your outfit to be the denim. Denim shirt paired with office slacks or a work smart shirt and denim pant in tandem, just don’t over dress a denim then, tuck in. Use a belt and a leather shoes with the same color. Brown leather is perfect for denim. Not the metal studded or the buckled. Try it also with leather shoes with minimal brogue details.

Befriend them and pitch clean. Of course, don’t forget to ask for the sale. They may sign in now or at least lessen the number of meetings towards the final close. On days when it seems like you’re getting the hard time befriending the prospects, go back to White.

imageLight Blue denotes sincerity. The tint of choice to enhance credibility. When prospects say NO because the pitch sounds too-good-to-be-true or perhaps you have been having credibility objections for how many days, wear vibrant of blue shirt the next day!

Pastel radiates relaxation. Best to don on pressured days. When you’re seem going to a chasm of rejections or panting before the month closes, don’t let your prospect feel the cram. Wear pastels! Also, best during mid day humid pitches, open house events, exhibits, field activities.

Color coordination denotes being organized and composed. Any of your interlocutor surely appreciates your offer due to the pleasant reception of the colors engulfing them as you pitch. Refrain from wearing Red and busy patterns like herringbone, houndstooth and plaid or checkered.

Fabric and Fit

imageDrapes dictate disposition. When we are comfortable with what we are wearing, we just simply feel good about ourselves. This then transcends to anyone you are interacting with may it be a client, your boss or a mate. They’ll love the presence of someone with a relaxed vibe.  Fabrics that breathe with you like lightweight polyester, drape and rayon, are good source of confidence.

Well fit clothes denote that you are prepared for winning. Thus, your first effort then for success on this context is to simply get your sizes and measurements sharp.  Have these measurements saved on your mobile’s notes and be sure to update it at least every quarter. Buy pieces which aren’t too snug yet not too loose.

Minutes after the inauguration rites, I started roaming around the spacious display area. Not the usual bike retail shop you’ve been in. With the cozy settings of the customer’s lounge, you would thought you’re about stay in a lavish hotel.

Still looking for what would uniquely describe a Honda Flagship Shop, I met Ms Jang and started to network a bit. Apart from the showroom, spare parts and power products display area, Davao’s HPI Flagship shop features a 1,500 sqm test circuit where riders can get that feel while riding a Honda motorcycle they are involved to own. The Rider’s Hall upstairs is also phenomenal. Jang sizzled. She tried to get consent from the in-charge while I also called my fellows Mark, Joseph and Teresa.

Just two more floors up, I thought of the intricate recreation floor of the well-appointed vacation club property I am working in. Imagine a lounge, 250-seater function room, recreational facilities and my favorite, the veranda with the pseudo poolside appeal! With all these features as free, I applaud HPI and DESMARK for innovating such irresistible overture for their owners and such a wise yet thoughtful move to sustain bigger market share being the number 1 motorcycle brand in Asia.

2 New Fun-Courses for the 25th Batch: Mcdonald’s is looking for Kiddie Crew!

As this year marks the silver batch of McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop, your little ones will surely enjoy the daily sessions through new courses, “Make-Your-Own-Dessert” and the McDelivery Game which reinforce the teaching of McDonald’s time-tested values of team work and discipline.

imageChem volunteered to take this pic while we were walking through on “make your own cheeseburger” activity. It’s obvious I’m elated preparing one of my favorite offerings from McDonald’s. Just after the take, she then asked “How’s your burger? I said, “Almost done!” Then she said in a sweet yet smart tone, “Ang service time ha.”

What a jab! Chem leaving me with that reminder startled my memory while at the same time shifted my euphoria to a surging sense of efficiency. It refreshed me of one of the books by New York Times bestselling author, John Maxwell. “I knew I have already known about McDonald’s Speed Service System!” I deciphered.

On the first part of the book – Leadership  101, Maxwell narrated the infant years of McDonald’s to strengthen his discourse about the context of that chapter.

“By 1948, They also created what they called the Speedy Service System. Their kitchen became like an assembly line, where each person focused on service with speed. Their goal was to fill each customer’s order in thirty seconds or less. And they succeeded. By the mid-1950s, annual revenue hit $350,000, and by then, Dick and Maurice split net profits of about $100,000 each year”

“Theirs was one of the most profitable restaurant enterprises in the country and their genius was in customer service and kitchen organization, which led to a new system of food and beverage service. In fact, their talent was so widely known in food service circles that people from all over the country wanted to learn more about their methods. At one point, they received as many as three hundred calls and letters every month. That led them to the idea of marketing the McDonald’s concept”


For any adult who has 6-12 year old loved-one, knowing such snippet from McDonald’s history is a smack-dab reason why to enroll the family’s kids. During the launching event in fact, it seemed like I’m seeing a gigantic box slowly being lowered from the ceiling as the program nears to the divulgence of the intriguing new fun products. I have to say the phrase is such a stimulant, opportune for a launching event. My speculations thrilled me segment after segment that night. It’s always been exciting to open a box. Talking about revolutionary mechanism, newly-installed site markers containing quick response codes and near-field communications stickers have been deployed in select areas within the city. The markers trigger the download of tourism and historical information via phone scanning.

Launched in celebration of the city’s 80th Charter Day March 15 ,”Davao Guide” – the phone application for everyone who wants to discover the city which bylines the most powerful man now in the Philippines, is now free to download.
