Touchdown to Takeoff Outfits: South Cebu

Picking a fabric with travel friendly features is a different story. It exudes your style but eludes you from a fat luggage. Are you ready for the next takeoff?

One of the most touristic things to do in the destination is to dress up like a visitor while being not too flamboyant to intimidate the locals. That garb which gives you comfort, function and the desired immersive vibe of your own flair of style while en route.

This series is dedicated to the sets of outfit one can get inspiration from while travelling. Every episode is also infused with ideas you can add in your itinerary like food and cafe stops, tourist spots, and tech solutions for services while traveling. Our first touchdown, South Cebu!

Macchiato Espresso and Bulgogi Pizza to kick off the trip! (The Pyramid, IT Park Garden)

0092cac8-0a9e-45fd-8cc0-7553690d7fbaA baseball cap, a vertically textured tee, jeans and my favorite tasseled loafer wrapped my touchdown-to-first-stop look. I also brought with me a jacket which complements the shades of the cap, the shirt and the shoes. The cap, the jacket and the jeans insulate heat while at the airport and during in-flights, especially during early morning flights. Easy to slip-on foot wear like this gives you less hassle during the airport security procedures upon check in.

(1) The rates are fixed no matter how heavy would the traffic be towards your destination. This also deters the possibility that your driver might try to take the longer route to charge you bigger from the ideal rate. That is very important to travelers who are new to the place. (2) The en route comfort and exclusivity. You seem to have a personal driver and own car. What is a few more tens in exchange of that convenience?

HOT AND HOLY IN SOUTH CEBU

Hot Morning Stops : Whale Shark Watching and Tumalog Falls, Oslob

I chose a low U tank and a printed swimming shorts to enjoy both the ocean with the sharks and the cold spring from the waterfalls. I wore a long sleeve polo over the tank-short combo for both style and protection. The entire look shows a monochrome green tropical look finished with a dark brown Panama hat without its bow.

I easily rolled these sleeves when it got humid while it served as a bathrobe every after the water romance.

Holy After-Lunch Visit: Simala Shrine, Sibonga

Just like visiting in any religious tourist spot, we have to be in a respectful drape. Thus, I folded a pair of smart linen pieces for this church visit which was light to carry in my back pack early that morning.

This was my favorite outfit for this trip. The entire look showed a smart casual appeal made touristy because of the linen material. Fortified such appeal with the leather shoes and the same hat I used earlier that day, but now with a hankie that serves as its bow.

This was the most relaxing part of the trip. I thanked for the blessings and surpassed trials from 2018, both in the family affairs and corporate matters. I also asked for wisdom on my plans for 2019. I was relieved, thankful and confident after praying. The feeling was as light and breathable as the linen that touches my skin every time the wind blows as I strolled throughout the vast temple.

Spent few more minutes taking photos of the impressive European design of the church and of course some Gram-worthy photos of the place as my background.

LINEN IN THE CITY

f5bc7205-bacb-4398-8c66-8c09ee36b1c8The third day started late. After dressing up, we tried Gibb’s for lunch before heading to SM Seaside. The Spicy Honey Garlic wings were my favorites. Urban Cebu was hot and humid that day. Thus, I chose to wear another linen pair. This time, I opted a long sleeved linen shirt since part of our itinerary was to visit the Sto Niño Basilica later that day (but unfortunately, it was already closed by the time we arrived. TIP: Be there not later than 5PM).

Linen is a travel friendly fabric. Apart from it is light in your luggage, it is also easy to dry. I washed my linen pants that night as I arrived in my stay since it was stained with chocolates I ate during the long bus rides. Don’t judge me. Smirk.

I met with a close friend from high school at SM Seaside. My chum recommended “10 Dove Street Confectionery” so eagerly and persuaded me to catch up there over cakes and coffee. I loved the Mango Pandan slice.

TAKEOFF LOOK

c89c6d72-3198-4386-83ec-ed2804ce7541A cream tee, jeans and the leather loafer sealed my last-stop-to-takeoff look. Accented it with a hankie-turned-to-scarf to blend with the French ambiance of La Vie Parissiene. Yes, Airport Looks tend to be with similar style pieces. Same material, same heat insulating purpose while inside a wintry airport and aircraft.

It was my second visit here. Chose the enclosed part of the restaurant this time. Enjoyed the night with Shanpelino and pizza. Shot some photos, did online updating and reminisced funny travel stories from the previous days with the team while sipping some Moscato in betweens.

We ended the night at 10 PM to prepare for our flight by 6AM. After packing up my things, I sneaked for some alone time with a cocktail at a nearby bar from our stay. Drafted my prognostications for 2019 on my phone’s Notes. On top of it was “Sell handsomely,Travel handsomely.”. Then, I Grab-ed our ride to the airport.

We all search for ideas of what to wear on the specific stops of our trip. Picking a fabric with travel friendly features is a different story. It is in fact a travel-style hack. It exudes your style but eludes you from a fat luggage. Are you ready for the next takeoff?
